CommitPath privacy

This policy explains how the free, account-free CommitPath app and this website handle information. It applies to CommitPath 1.0 as prepared for Android, iOS, and macOS release.

Learning information on your device

CommitPath stores personal decks and card references, favorites, bookmarks, reading positions, learning activity, appearance, and advertising preferences in local app storage. The bundled Flashcards and Guided lessons work offline. The current release has no CommitPath account or app-managed sync.

Android app backup is disabled. An iOS device backup may include local app data depending on your settings. On a Mac, CommitPath keeps this data inside its App Sandbox container in your user Library, and Time Machine or another Mac backup may include it depending on your settings. Removing the app may remove this data. We cannot recover it from a CommitPath account.

Accounts, purchases, and advertising

The current Release app does not offer sign-in, in-app purchases, or subscriptions. Its app code does not request ads. Development builds may show test ads; they are separate from the Release app described here.

Third-party libraries

CommitPath 1.0 Release builds for Android, iOS, and macOS do not include Google Mobile Ads, Google User Messaging Platform, or RevenueCat. Those libraries support separate development builds with test ads. The macOS app runs on a bundled Java runtime; it and the app's other open-source components are listed under open-source notices in its Settings. If we add advertising or purchase services to a future release, we will update this policy and the store disclosures before that release.
